Welcome to the Lion’s room!
We are ready to go and look forward to a school year that is full of fun and learning for your children. We will send a News Letter home twice a month with information about the topics we are learning. Our daily schedule is posted outside the door. A few pieces of business about the class and our routine to help our day go smoothly:
Our first week we will welcome each other and then we will jump into the High Holidays, Sukkot and Simchat Torah. We will read stories, do art projects, learn some Hebrew and apply beginning math concepts and science to our topics. If you have any concerns or questions please talk to us.
Shalom, Gina and Amy

We are ready to go and look forward to a school year that is full of fun and learning for your children. We will send a News Letter home twice a month with information about the topics we are learning. Our daily schedule is posted outside the door. A few pieces of business about the class and our routine to help our day go smoothly:
- Drop Off and Pick Up: Please sign your child in and out each day. This is our daily attendance record and a licensing requirement. The clipboard is by the door on the table. There is a second sheet if your child is going home with someone other than their usual person, i.e. if they are going home with a classmate for a play date.
- Hand Washing: When you drop off your child please bring them to the bathroom and help them wash their hands. In a few weeks they will be independent washers but may need a reminder. This helps cut down on the spread of germs in the classroom.
- Clothes Labeling: Please label your child’s personal items, backpack, hat, coat etc. Often the children don’t recognize their things and the teachers don’t either! We want your children to go home in their own clothes.
- Extra Clothes: Your child has a cubby in the room. Please bring two full sets of clothes including socks and diapers, pull-ups or underwear. We have wipes. Again please label the clothes.
- Dismissal: School ends at 11:00. Please be on time for pickup. We know that there are times when being late can’t be avoided. Please call if you are running late.
- Shabbat and Tzadakah: Fridays we celebrate Shabbat. Part of the celebration involves collecting Tzadakah (coins) to be used to help those in need. The children enjoy dropping a few coins in the Tzadakah Box and feeling the box as it fills up. In the past we have bought food for the Oak Park Food Pantry, winter items for the PADS clients and adopted a lion at the Brookfield Zoo. We will post a list for Shabbat Parent sign up. You are welcome to come in and share Shabbat with the class. Read a story, play a song, lead the blessings or just hang out.
- Guinea Pig: We would like the children to help feed the Guinea Pig. We will have a sign up for families to provide a head of romaine lettuce for our little friend.
- Daily Information: Outside the classroom a schedule is posted with our art activity, snack and book for each day. A newsletter will be sent home at the change of our topic with some highlights of what we have and will be doing. We will do our best to keep you informed of upcoming events and remember to check the emails from Marci and the Glasser Preschool website at Glasserpreschool.com.
Our first week we will welcome each other and then we will jump into the High Holidays, Sukkot and Simchat Torah. We will read stories, do art projects, learn some Hebrew and apply beginning math concepts and science to our topics. If you have any concerns or questions please talk to us.
