Aisha Ellis is excited to start her third year in the Lions classroom. She began teaching by working in the primary grades at Chicago Public Schools from 2000-2010, when she moved here from Iowa. She completed her Masters in Literacy in 2005 and in August completed her early childhood certificate. Both of her boys attended Glasser Preschool and are now in elementary school. Aisha lives in Chicago with her spouse, boys and two pets. She enjoys baking, camping, scuba, ukulele and singing in a choir.

Liliana Frischman is looking forward to starting her sixth year at Glasser Preschool. This is her third year in the Zebras classroom having taught previously for three years in the Lions classroom. Lili has a Bachelor’s Degree in Counselor Education and a Master’s Degree in Psychology of Education from the University in Brazil. She lives in Oak Park with her husband Allan, her son Gabriel (age 12), and her niece Maria Eduarda (age 22) who is attending Dominican University. Lili loves music, dance and spending time with her friends and family.

Marci Sperling Flynn has been Glasser Preschool’s full time Director since 1998. She received her BA in psychology from Brandeis University (having also spent a semester at Tel Aviv University), received her JD from Georgetown University Law School, completed her course work towards the MA in early childhood education at National Louis University, and received her National Early Childhood Director credential through the McCormick Center. After practicing law for ten years, Marci changed careers to follow her dream of working full time with children and their families. Marci lives in Oak Park with her husband, two teen age children (both of whom are proud graduates of Glasser Preschool) and numerous pets. Marci’s daughter is a student at UCLA. Marci is an active member of the CFJE Director’s Group, Early Childhood Collaboration’s Director’s Roundtable, and recently completed her many years on the National Executive Board of ECE-RJ (Early Childhood Educators of Reform Judaism) as the Vice President of Finance. Marci enjoys spending time with her family and friends and listening to Ralph Covert music.

Amy Kaufman has been at Glasser Preschool since 2004. She has a Masters in Elementary Education and a Masters in Social Work. While living in Philadelphia she worked as a Social worker in a variety of settings. Amy will again be teaching in the Lions classroom. Amy also teaches third grade at Oak Park Temple’s religious school. She lives in Oak Park with her husband Mark and two sons, Aaron and Max. Amy likes to curl up with a good book and spend time with her family and friends.

Ruth Milstein has taught at Glasser Preschool for twenty years with our two and three year old children. Ruth will be in Gan Katan again this school year. Ruth has a BA with teacher certification and a MS in Counselor Education. Prior to teaching at Glasser Preschool, Ruth was a junior high teacher and counselor, a substitute teacher, and a private academic tutor. Ruth’s own two grown children attended Glasser Preschool. Ruth enjoys travel and opera and is a Cubs fan! Having grown up at Oak Park Temple, Ruth served for 10 years as chair of the Religious School Committee, was co-president of Sisterhood and is on the Sisterhood Board.

Molly Brennan is excited to join the Glasser Preschool family as a full time teacher this year in the Turtles classroom, after having been a substitute at Glasser for the past year and a half. She has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Secondary Education, as well as a Masters in Education. Molly previously taught 4th grade for eight years before becoming a stay at home mom to her two children, Henry (11) and Sofia (9). She lives in Brookfield and spends her free time reading, doing arts and crafts and raising her four chickens. Molly also teaches students in China how to speak English online. She's looking forward to a year of learning and growing with your children!
Gina Scala has been a teacher at Glasser Preschool since 2004 (with a yearlong sabbatical when she lived and worked in Florida). This year Gina will be teaching in our Gan Katan classroom. Gina has a degree in Early Childhood Education, and has worked in the field of ECE for over 25 years. Gina has a 28 year old son who is studying to be a veterinarian, and shares his passion for animals, especially marine animals. Gina volunteers at Brookfield Zoo and various other charities. Gina enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Cathryn Weiss is starting her fifth year teaching at Glasser Preschool in the Turtles classroom. She attended National Louis University working toward a degree in early childhood education. She worked at JCC Apachi Chicago Day Camp for five summers as a camp counselor, mainly with three and four year olds. She grew up at Oak Park Temple, and continues to be an active member of the congregation. She was a member of the Oak Park Temple Board, and she is in her eighteenth year as a Jewish school teacher. She is also a member of the Women of Oak Park Temple group. Cathryn tutors both adults and children in beginner Hebrew studies. Also, she loves baking, photography, and is a tea aficionada.

Judy Weiss has been part of Glasser Preschool since 1990. She developed and then taught in the Gan Katan program for many years. Judy has been one of our Tigers teachers since 2004. Judy has a BS in preschool/kindergarten from University of Wisconsin, Madison. After completing her degree, Judy stayed in Madison and taught in a day care setting and a preschool. Judy has lived in Oak Park with her husband Marc since 1988 and has three grown children and four grandchildren. She is an active member of Oak Park Temple. Judy likes to ride her bike, take walks, and play mah jongg.

Jenna Wellner is returning to Glasser Preschool for her fourth year as a teacher in Zebras classroom, having taught the Glasser tots class many years ago. She is excited to be working at Glasser where all of her children attended. Jenna has a Masters degree in Reading and Learning Disabilities from Depaul University and taught elementary school since 1994 (taking a break when her children were born). Jenna lives in Oak Park with her husband Dan, boys Simon and Nate, and her dog Georgie. Jenna loves to play tennis, watch the Cubs, cook, and spend time with her friends and family.

Gisele Worley has been teaching our four year olds (Tigers and Bears classrooms) since she came to Glasser Preschool more than twenty years ago. Gisele graduated from Middle East College in Lebanon with a management degree (she speaks Arabic / Syriac / Hebrew/ English) and has taken many early childhood courses locally at Triton College. Prior to coming to Glasser Preschool, Gisele worked in school administration in Lebanon and at Parenthesis Parent/Child Center in Oak Park. Gisele has three children and two grandchildren. Gisele enjoys cooking, knitting, and reading.
