Registration for next semester's lunch/extended day program is due by Friday December 9th. We will determine which days we are offering the program during the second semester based on the registrations we receive by that date. The registration form is attached to the December newsletter.
Sunday, December 4th
OPTY Spaghetti Dinner
The annual Spaghetti Dinner is taking place in the community hall at Oak Park Temple on the night of Sunday December 4th at 6 P.M. The theme this year is Disney Pixar. The cost for this dinner is $ 8.00 for children and $ 12.00 for adults. All the money raised during the dessert auction will help OPTY (Oak Park Temple Youth) sponsor all of their future events to come, so do not forget to bring a dessert for the dessert auction, and defiantly do not forget to buy one! It's a guaranteed good time and a great way to support the teens of Oak Park Temple.

Registration for 2nd semester lunch program begins Our second semester lunch and extended day programs will start immediately following winter break. We will again be offering the program options as follows: Lunch is an option Monday through Friday from 11:00 to noon PM. The extended day program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 1:15 PM. Registration begins on December 5th. We will determine which dates we will be having the program for the second semester based on the enrollment numbers from the registration forms we receive by December 9th.
GPS Parent Group 7:30 PM
We will having a "parent group" meeting on some Monday evenings of each month from 7:30 to 8:30 PM; and some Thursday mornings of each month from 8:45 to 9:45 AM. The group will be facilitated by Sheryl Stoller, PCI Certified Parent Coach. Topics will be suggested by parents in collaboration with Sheryl. Come to as many as you would like - you do not have to commit to coming to all sessions! The cost is $5 per family for each session you attend. If you need babysitting during the sessions - please let Marci know and we will arrange to offer this service during the sessions that it is needed. Babysitting is $5 per child per session.

GPS Board Meeting 7:30 PM The December Glasser Preschool Board meeting is on Thursday December 8th at 7:30 p.m. at Annika Rothbaum's home located at 908 N. Humphrey in Oak Park. All preschool parents and teachers are invited and encouraged to attend these monthly meetings.

Accompanying the December newsletter are the Scholastic Books order forms for December. You can order online or by paper order returned to Marci. All book orders must be turned in by Friday, December 9th. Hopefully this way we will receive the books before winter vacation. Every dollar you spend with Scholastic books allows us to get free books for the school. Please make checks payable to Scholastic Books.
Shabbat Kehillah
Zimrei Ha'am will be hosting a Shabbat Kehillah dinner onDecember 9th at 6 PM. Shabbat Kehillah is OPT's Shabbat of Community. These 7PM Shabbat Services will feature Tsimmis, our congregation's band, and will be preceded by a buffet dinner at 6:00 PM. Shabbat Kehillah dinners will be held on the Second Friday of each month. December's musical service provided by our own "peoples' choir", Zimrei Ha'am and Tsimmis. Please contact the OPT office to make your reservation.
GPS Shabbat
Every Friday the entire school meets at 10:30 AM/2:00 PM in either the Chapel or Sanctuary to celebrate Shabbat together. Please feel free to join us in this singing celebration. Lions, Zebras, Tigers and Bears parents - please sign up outside your child's classroom to be the Shabbat Parent (or grandparent, aunt, etc.) of the week. Spend some time with your child's class - - reading a book, playing an instrument, telling a story, and celebrate Shabbat with us.

JUF Book Buddies
JUF Book Buddies is an exciting program for young families with children ages 0-5. JUF Book Buddies will be at Magic Tree Bookstore in Oak Park one Sunday a month from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. Join them to learn more about the Jewish holidays, meet new friends, and spend meaningful time with your family with stories, songs, craft projects and family fun.
