This week at Glasser Preschool (2/4/13)
The four year lottery for morning/afternoon classes for our 2013-2014 school year will be conducted early next week. Your temple membership status (member vs. nonmember) as of Monday 2/4/13 will determine your place in the lottery system. The lottery system is contained in the registration materials.
Registration confirmations for 2013-2014 school year will be sent home next week for all returning students.
Please do not park in the handicapped spot on Berkshire at drop off and pick up times (even for just a minute . .. ) unless you have a handicap placard. We have families that need these spots.

Saturday, February 2nd
Tot Shabbat 9 AM
Monthly we invite you and your family to join together for a special Shabbat service for our little ones. It is designed to include simple prayers and songs appropriate for Shabbat, our weekly day of rest, and to share the spirit of being together. The Service will be held at 9AM and conclude about 9:30 AM with an Oneg, a time to have cookies and juice and quiet activities, in the Youth Lounge. We ask everyone who attends to bring a small nut free treat to share (a dozen or so cookies or fruit) Please join us for our next Tot Shabbat on Saturday, February 2nd at 9 AM Thank you to our parent volunteers for the Oneg: Parents of Soren Rothbaum.

The Election is Over – What’s Next? The Jewish stake in the 113th Congress. Rabbi David Saperstein of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism will be at Oak Park Temple at 10:30 AM.
Monday, February 4th
Play Mah Jong at OPT
Every Monday night a group of us play Mah Jong at OPT from 7-9 PM. We would love for you to join us.
Tuesday, February 5th
Lunch (11 AM to Noon): beef kebab bites, fresh cucumbers, apples slices, whole grain pita
Wednesday, February 6th
Lunch (11 AM to Noon)/Music (Noon to 12:45 PM): orange chicken, fresh broccoli, fresh pineapple, brown rice
Thursday, February 7th Lunch (11 AM to Noon): creamy mac n cheese, sweet local peas, orange slices
Special Person Night
Thursday, February 8th is Special Person Night. Your child can invite their favorite special person (mom, dad, sibling, etc.) for this hour long evening visit from 6:30 - 7:30 PM in their preschool classrooms. This is a chance for your child to share their school with someone important in their life. Please limit your child to one (at most 2) special person so that the rooms do not become overcrowded and overwhelming for the children. School will be closed the next day for a teacher institute day - so the kids will be able to sleep in a little in the morning.
Scholastic Book Orders Due
You can order on line or by paper order. All books orders must be turned in by Thursday, February 7th. Each dollar you spend at Scholastic Books allows us to earn points to purchase new books for our school. Please make checks payable to Scholastic Books.

GPS Closed – Teacher In service Day

Glasser Preschool invites you to join your friends for a Fundraiser at Monkey Island on Friday, February 8th when Glasser Preschool is closed for a Teacher In service Day. Join us any time on Friday between 10 AM and 1 PM. A portion of the admission price on our school’s special day will be donated to Glasser Preschool. We encourage you to take your kids or to plan a group outing. Invite your friends who are not GPS families to join you too! We know that your family will have a fabulous day while helping fund important projects at Glasser Preschool. Mention "Glasser Preschool" at the entrance so that we receive credit for your visit.

OPT’s 4th & 5th Grade Religious School classes will be hosting a Shabbat Kehillah dinner on February 8th at 6 PM. Shabbat Kehillah is OPT’s Shabbat of Community. RSVP for the dinner to the Temple office or online at Dinner is followed by a Shabbat service at 7 PM.
